About Our Practice
Mission Regional Medical Center

Dr. Nolan's practice is closely associated with Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center. This hospital is part of the Sisters of St. Joseph Health Care System which dedicates itself to core beliefs of patient care. Our office shares the same campus as the hospital. Welcome to our web site. Please feel free to wander about, and take a guided tour inside our plastic surgery institute. Again, welcome.
Institute Tour
Intro to Institute Tour
At Dr. Nolan’s Plastic and Cosmetic Institute, people are our first priority. That is why we have always taken great care in staffing the center with compassionate and dedicated people. They want to provide personalized care for each patient. Our staff has learned, through years of experience, that our efforts are ultimately measured by the quality of care provided to each and every patient.
Welcoming Room
Dr. Nolan knows that you have thought long and hard about seeking the advice of a plastic surgeon. Do not feel alone. There are 70,000 men and about 200,000 women every year trying to make the same intelligent choices. We want to help.
The spirit of Doctor Nolan’s institute is one of elegance. Elegance in surgical expertise, certainly. But this spirit is also seen in the high standard of services, a nurturing and communicative environment, a dedicated staff, and surgical facilities which are independently inspected, licensed, fully staffed, and nationally accredited. Dr. Nolan also has privileges to perform your surgery in many of the regional hospitals and surgicenters of your choice.
Our first mission is education. Before anything, we want you to know just about as much as we do about your surgery. This makes recovery so much easier.
The second practice purpose is gentle caring in a supportive environment. For this reason, we are a close-knit team. The physician heads a large team of registered nurses, surgical technicians, patient care coordinators, financial consultants, anesthetists, aestheticians, and support personnel who have worked together for many years, as a cohesive and integrated team. The patient is the reason we are all together, and we wish to serve in any way possible. Dr. Nolan will accept nothing but the best of efforts and all are chosen for their commitment to excellence in patient care.
Third, and finally, this practice offers the best of recent and innovative surgical techniques and technologies. But we will endeavor first and foremost to preserve common sense, and adhere to established surgical principles. Experience from years of surgical judgment, innovative approaches, and today’s technologies bring the best to our patients.
Reception Area
In the reception area, a warm and friendly face will greet you. At the time you first called for an appointment, a large Welcome to Our Practice packet will have been mailed to you. This has a return address mailer for returning patient information and registration material to us prior to your visit. We should have most of your chart prepared prior to your arrival. Some of these forms can also be downloaded from this web site. It is a suggestion to bring all pertinent information with you, however. This might include an insurance card, a list of questions to ask Dr. Nolan, previous medical records, pathology reports, reports of recent mammograms, and images and photos of a desired result. Call ahead and we will try to have records faxed to us from the referring doctor, or your private physician. Our fax number is (949)364-2873, if you wish to assure that records are received expeditiously.
Dedicated Consultation
The consultation time is also spent with our patient care coordinator. She is an expert at arranging all appointments, scheduling your surgery, and discussing financial matters. Written surgical cost quotations are given to all of our patients. We can also arrange for aftercare, if you wish to recover away from home. In addition to the initial consultation, all patients are seen for an extensive pre-operative visit several weeks prior to any surgery. Prior to the pre-op visit, you will be mailed a health questionnaire as well as before and after instructions pertaining to your specific precedure. We all take pride in being thorough as well as thoughtful, and want to make this experience as comfortable as possible. Please ask if there are any questions or unanswered concerns. During the consultation, there will be an open and honest discussion about the surgery you desire. An extensive journal of before and after photographs is available for your review. Nurses having many years of experience in plastic surgery will guide you through this process and are invaluable in the care, comfort, and recovery of our patients.
Consultation
We respect the value of your time. As such, we will make every effort not to keep you waiting. We feel that the time you spend should be time spent with Dr. Nolan discussing and dealing with your needs and interests. We realize that it took a great deal of time, effort, and perhaps even worry to call and make this consultation, and every effort will be made to live up to your expectations. It is requested that small children not be in attendance, but all other family members are welcome, especially care givers, spouses, parents, and significant others. Finally, we beg your indulgence in understanding that Dr. Nolan’s schedule is sometimes not of his own choosing and changes do and will occur. Every effort will be made to keep you posted on changes to the schedule.
